Steam Hammer Sculpture

In a move away from high volume, batch production, Thomas Storey took on the commission to make and erect a 10m high x 12m wide sculpture called 'Dead Blow'.

The sculpture was designed by sculptor Robert Erskine as the entrance to a new shopping centre only walking distance away from Thomas Storey's factory and was intended to show the area's rich industrial heritage.

Thomas Storey not only provided complete pre-production jig and tool design and manufacturing capability, but carried out the planning and logistics to enable the sculpture to be delivered to site - a not inconsiderable challenge!
